Yoga & Writing Retreats
Guatemala
Retreats are held at Villa Sumaya, a retreat center near
the Mayan village of Santa Cruz on the shores of Lake Atitlan.
The Yoga studio, dining hall and all of the guest rooms
feature stunning views of the lake and surrounding volcanos.
The Yoga studio features hard-wood floors and bay windows.

Mexico
Retreats are hosted at the secluded Los Naranjos retreat
center, in the fishing village of Yelapa. Isolated by the
Sierra Madres, this village is accessible only by boat.
No roads, no cars, no phones. Dinner by candlelight! Waterfalls,
river trails, jungle, mountains, beaches, and snorkeling. |

Massachusetts
retreats are held at Stump Sprouts retreat center in the
Berkshires. Retreats are scheduled in the Fall to maximise
fall colors. Wonderful views, great food, and cozy Yoga
studio. |

The
Texas retreats are held at Alma de Mujer, and center located
20 minutes West of Austin. The facilities are snuggled into
a hollow in the Texas Hill Country, over looking a pasture,
& streams. |

Facilitators
Charles
MacInerney has lead over 40 Yoga & Writing retreats since
1997, at retreat centers throughout Texas, Massachusetts, Costa
Rica, Mexico and Guatemala. He has written for numerous publications,
including the Yoga Journal.
Charles
is a certified Amherst Writers & Artists writing workshop
leader and is registered with the Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (their
highest level of recognition). He is the founder of Expanding
Paradigms, through which he offers a newsletter with over 8000
subscribers. His personal yoga web-site gets over 800 visitors
a day. In addition, Charles is an accomplished public speaker
and trainer. He offers workshops on peak performance, stress
management, and creativity, including a Key Note on Improving
Creativity at the 3M Innovators Banquet, SXSW, and numerous
other conferences, corporations, and government agencies.
For
his retreats in Guatemala, Massachusetts and Texas, Charles
co-leads with Patricia Lewis, an award winning poet, and primary
trainer for AWA Writing workshop leadership training. Charles
is assisted at the Mexico retreat by Diana Gordon, an experienced
editor and writing facilitator, who leads writing groups at
Patchwork Farm, The Great River Arts Institute, and Writers
In Progress, among others. Her
prizewinning poems and short stories appear widely in journals. |
